CCC HIRING VETERANS FOR NATIONAL FORESTS
Successful applicants will be hired for crews working on fuel reduction, forest thinning and forestry and wildfire education projects. Fire training, chain saw training and safety and tool use is included in the full-time jobs.
In San Diego, participants will live at home and commute to the CCC's facility in National City. The crew will be transported daily to work in the Cleveland National Forest.
The corpsmembers will work seasonally with the U.S. Forest Service and continue their employment in the CCC. Those graduating from the program could be eligible to work as seasonal firefighters for the Forest Service with veterans preference.
The pay for the crew members is $8/hour with basic health insurance. Uniforms, safety gear and tools are provided.
